My Story

From Legal Theory to Ground-Level Value Creation

My story is one of seeking tangible impact—a journey from understanding the world through abstract rules to shaping it with practical action.

Part 1: The Foundation – A Quest for Structure and Justice

My path began with a deep interest in the frameworks that govern our world. Excelling academically, I was admitted to the China University of Political Science and Law, a top-tier institution, to study International Law. This period was formative. I didn’t just study; I engaged. As Director of External Relations for the student union, I learned the art of building partnerships. Volunteering with a legal aid clinic, I saw the real-world need for justice. An exchange program at Northwestern University School of Law in Chicago fundamentally broadened my perspective, immersing me in a global environment and solidifying my desire for an international career.

This drive led me to impactful experiences: interning at Fangda Partners, one of China’s most prestigious law firms; assisting judges at the Changping District Court; and working as a case assistant at the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC). I was even involved in legislative research for the express delivery industry and led a government-funded research project on paid leave, the results of which were noted by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, with whom I later worked for six months.

Yet, a disconnect grew. I found myself drawn not to arguing legal technicalities, but to building and creating. This realization prompted a defining pivot.

Part 2: The Pivot – An Education on the Factory Floor

I made a conscious decision to leave the established career track in Beijing and return to my family’s kitchen appliance factory in Guangdong. I believed that to truly understand business, I needed to start from the ground up—literally.

I insisted on working every role: assembly line worker, welder, quality inspector, warehouse manager, and sales representative. This was my most valuable education. I learned how a product truly comes to life, how quality is built in at every stage, and how a supply chain functions in reality, not just in theory. This hands-on experience gave me an irreplaceable, granular understanding of Chinese manufacturing.

Proving my operational mettle, I later established the factory’s e-commerce division from scratch with no budget, achieving RMB 3 million in first-year sales by mastering platform algorithms and developing a distributor network.

Part 3: The Crucible – Leadership Forged in Crisis

My resilience was truly tested when I was asked to lead our failing Shandong branch. The previous manager had left, taking the team. I arrived to an empty office.

Undeterred, I started alone. I managed the warehouse, pursued sales, handled deliveries, and managed finances. Gradually, I recruited and trained a new team, redesigning the entire management structure and implementing a performance-based incentive system. Through relentless effort over three years, I transformed the branch, increasing annual revenue from RMB 3 million to RMB 10 million. This experience taught me the deepest lessons in leadership, team-building, and turning around a dire situation through sheer will and strategic management.

Part 4: The Entrepreneur – Innovation, Failure, and Resilience

Driven to solve a market need, I launched my first venture: an IoT-based platform for maintaining commercial kitchen equipment. We developed a full business model, a demo, and a network of technicians. However, after failing to secure investment from over 30 firms, the venture ended. I personally absorbed significant financial loss.

This failure was a profound lesson in the challenges of scalable business models and cash flow management. Yet, with debt to repay, I immediately pivoted. Leveraging my factory network, I started an export business from zero, targeting emerging markets. Through direct, persistent outreach, I secured clients in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, achieving over $1 million in revenue and clearing my debts. This period solidified my ability to succeed under pressure and build something from nothing.

Part 5: Integration – Family, Reflection, and the Path Forward

In 2024, my wife and I welcomed twin daughters. Their arrival, coupled with serious health challenges they faced, brought new depth to my understanding of responsibility and resilience. With the support of our family, we navigated this difficult time, and it has given me a renewed focus and strength.

Conclusion: My Value Proposition

Today, I offer a unique combination of skills: the strategic mindset honed by a top legal education and the pragmatic, ground-level expertise of a factory manager. I have built and led teams, created successful businesses, and learned from instructive failures. I understand the complete lifecycle of a product and a project, from the drawing board to the end-user.

I am not just an advisor; I are a builder. My journey has taught me that true value is not found in complex theories, but in the disciplined execution of well-made plans. I am now seeking to partner with forward-thinking organizations to help them navigate the complexities of the Chinese market and build lasting, valuable enterprises.

I look forward to the possibility of contributing to your success.
